Frequently Asked questions

StrutWipe is manufactured with the same hydraulic fluid that your landing gear struts are serviced with. Even though the two type of hydraulic fluid are interchangeable, please consult your maintenance manual under ATA chapter 12 (Servicing). As a general rule, commercial and private aircraft use MIL-PRF-5605. All other aircraft would use MIL-PFR-83282.

  • The 4X4 size is perfect for small personal aircraft such as Cessna and Piper.
  • The 6X6 provides enough fluid and cleaning area for complex three landing gear aircraft all the way up to B737 and A320.
  • The 9X9 (81 square inches of cleaning area) is great for the large size aircraft such as B747 and A330.

No, StrutWipe is pre-saturated but only to its peak capacity. Each StrutWipe is manufactured with pharmaceutical grade equipment.

Each StrutWipe is warrantied for three years from the date of manufacturing stamped on the bottom of every package. For more information, please see our policies tab.

Strutwipe can be use on other types of components that uses MIL-PRF-5606 (SW-756) or MIL-PRF-83282 (SW-782) hydraulic fluid. Always consult the ATA chapter 12 (Serving) maintenance manual.

StrutWipe is specially designed to clean and lubricate chrome hydraulic pistons. Rags are not used to clean wind shields, MFDs, or
galleys so why would a rag be used? Rags are easily cross contaminated with phosphate ester, Skydrol or
HyJet that can destroy the O-rings in a landing gear strut.
